The name 7 Schwaben is based on a fable which dates back as far as to the 16th century in its oldest known version. Here a short summary: Seven guys from our region in the southwest of Germany set out with a long pike, that has to be wielded by all seven of them at once, to embark on an adventure. After getting frightened by the sound of a hornet and already surrendering, they encounter a monstrous beast that scares them to hell. But they decide to fight it. Just before they skewer it, it becomes aware of them and scuttles away. In fact, it was a hare. In search of more adventures they come to a river and long story short, they all drown...
